I'm sitting here this evening with a one-liter bottle of America's Choice Sparkling Kiwi Strawberry Water, sampling some songs on iTunes and trying not to go on a virtual shopping spree. David Sedaris Live at Carnegie Hall, oh how I wish you were mine. Ben Fold's Songs for Silverman, someday soon we will be together. Weezer's Make Believe, I'd like to get to know you better. Moby, don't think I haven't noticed you have a new album .... blah de blah blah. Yeah, I won't bore you all further with the long, long list of albums I want, not to mention the new stuff I want to check out. iTunes makes it too easy! Just click click click and they are mine! And as long as I am coveting, do any of you have any suggestions of stuff I should check out? I'll listen to just about anything at least once, except maybe for hard-core polka.

I spent a quiet evening in last Friday evening, having a few drinks and listening to music, something I hadn't done in a long time. Of course, I used to sit around with some beers and a stack of CDs, and this past Friday it was a bottle of cheap merlot and a bunch of mp3s, but the concept was the same. Plus, the combination of a couple glasses of wine and being home alone led to some singing-along, much to the dismay of Helen the Cat.

Speaking of my furry little roommate, she woke me up at 4:30am yowling. When I got up to check on her, she was pacing in front of the patio door (behind the curtains) where she spends 98.5% of her time. I looked out and there was another cat lurking around. It ran off after I tapped the glass door, and Helen the Cat proceeded to strut around like the little guard-cat she'd like to believe she is.

Wow, what a nothing entry. Did y'all learn anything about me? I want to buy more music and my cat has Napoleon issues. Write that down, kiddos, there might be a quiz later on. Hey, at least I didn't go into the not one, but TWO fire alarms we had at work today, where I had to troop downstairs and out into the swampland currently known as "outside" on the east coast. Dammit.
