Anyway.
Twizler invited me out yesterday to go down to the Big City and have lunch with her and a couple of her friends at a new Thai place that was very, very good, even if I did just order the boring old chicken fried rice. And even if I was so hungry that I scarfed it all down without offering to share, even though everyone else at the table was sharing theirs. Sorry, folks, I am a lunch-sharing asshole.
After lunch (and the rousing discussion of reality television shows, including Wife Swap, Trading Spouses, The Rebel Billioniare, Survivor, and The Amazing Race), we all took a stroll down the street to some funky and new shops. At one of them, I bought $12 worth of rubber duckies. Yes, I did. Time to confess -- I have a thing for rubber duckies, especially funny looking ones. I have them all over my shower. I would totally post a picture of what I bought yesterday, but Sprint is being a sumbitch again and won't let me get to the pictures I've taken with my camera phone. But I will tell you this, my friends, two of these ducks glow in the dark! Awesome!
After that, the Twiz helped me find (actually, she found, while I just wandered along behind her looking at all the people and buildings and cars) another funky little gift shop that I knew had a special, special item that I wanted to buy as a Christmas gift. I can't tell you what it is, because it is for KeeperSister, who reads this here site. Nice try, Sis! You'll have to wait until Christmas, sucka!
Since I so rarely leave my house anymore, (really, I may be bordering on hermit territory here) I decided I should cram in as much as possible on this trip, so after a thwarted attempt to use the bathroom at Borders (really, I had to ask permission? Sorry, I'm not in fifth grade anymore, people at Borders!) we decided to go see the the World War II memorial. It really is quite a stunning site, especially at night, which is my favorite time to see any of the momuments on the Mall.
After that, (yes! there is more!) we decide to go for burgers. I hadn't been to Mary's in a while, so I was a little disappointed to discover that they don't offer the gay fried mushrooms as an appetizer anymore. However, they have a new burger, the embarrassing-to-order, but very tasty "Buffy the Hamburger Slayer," which, as you may have guessed, has lots of garlic in it. Garlic! Garlic! Garlic!
So that was Keepergirl's Big Day Out yesterday. Who knows, maybe next weekend I'll decide to go outside again! Stay tuned!
